I want to study the intersection of our time. The precipice of what's going on.
I want to study the intersection of religion, philosophy, the purpose of mankind and expression in art and the art of working.
I want to study the art history of today.
What does it mean to work in a system set up to have us become machines?
What is the point of having a world set up to work like machines, in tin little boxes on little desks from 9 to 5? From work work work, the constant exhaustion of never ending tasks, to pay pay pay.
When the machines are quite literally replacing our obsolete outdated hands of fingers click click clicking on the keyboards.
What is the drive of focus on where the world is turning?
Where the world is moving. What this era is called.
Only nearing 30 years into the 21st century, but what was the very moment our lives altogether started to feel desensitized to reality?
It's been less than 100 years since World War II and the Holocaust, yet our world is cycling back again to repeated colonization and mass genocides.
What is the purpose of letting this happen? Where does this fit into the whole mix?

Divine machinery. A world where we worship the machine.
It's mankind's global religion.
The machine. Mankind created religion, yet our imaginations are strong enough that whatever mankind creates tends to manifest into reality. We now have god physically at our fingertips, tapping, tapping, scrolling, scrolling away. With wires connecting between the walls of our home, under our beds, above our heads, in the sky, in space. The wires, the waves of connection of our messages and voices being heard from across the planet. Our constant need for this power to survive. We created our own god. We created our own needs.

The thing is most wars aren't fueled by religion at all, it's fueled by the power of the machine. A trade of bombing.
A trade of destroyed technology.
From swords to guns to atomic bombs, the enemy is ourselves.
After all, every country at every point of the world plucks flowers off bushes and keeps animals on leashes.
Of course we all kill each other.

We kill each other, we kill the world, yet we create, we create, we create.
We write these very words. We write poetry, we dance, we sing, we tell stories, we grow gardens, we care for families and it's all our human expression is meant for. It's life.
We think.
We relax, we bite our nails, we cry, we laugh, we pop pimples.
We express ourselves, we move, we blink and hug our friends.
We feel sentimental, we feel curious, we set up manners, we print our hand marks onto caves.
We braid each other's hair.
We decorate the space around us to feel at home.
We put flowers in our hair and discuss if muted tones look better than colorful tones on garments.
We decorate our world despite which cave we live in.
We sing our babies lullabies before they go to sleep.
We move our bodies to a rhythm whether that's to a tune and a beat or to making love.

We fall in love we fall in love we fall in love and then look at someone's eyes like a work of art.

We focus on the colors of their irises where we can see a whole galaxy in the way they see day to day life.
A galaxy in the irises, a gentle touch to this loved one feels both like heightened euphoria and simply home.
We pet, we kiss with tongue, we lock hands.
See how our hands are so perfect for intertwining our fingers together to make the shape of our beating heart.
To notice these things, we see life romantically.
We see it messily. We see it naturally. We see it poetically.
We experience the sublime.

We create art just from perception and expression.

My mind is my hand, my body is the canvas, the situation is the paintbrush, the experience is the art.

We live, we breathe, we express and therefore we create.

We discover, therefore we create. We learn and therefore we create. We understand and therefore we create. We exist and therefore we create. What is the purpose of it all? Where did the sun come from?
We answer by making up stories of gods and religion.
We make, we make, we make.

We created stories for our questions and we created machines out of our answers.

Divine machinery.

We live in an era of divine machinery.
